Oppenheimer,  J. Robert. The Open Mind. New York; Simon and Schuster, 1955. First edition.

Inscribed by the author, "To Marwin Sadih [?], with all good wishes, Robert Oppenheimer, Worcester 5/27/56."

An important political and philosophical statement by the great theoretical physicist, published the year after his ordeal before the United States Atomic Energy Commission during the McCarthy era. We have not yet identified the recipient, but the occasion was likely a three-day conference of the Committee on the Humanities of the American Council of Learned Societies convened at the Worcester Art Museum. Near fine in a slightly rubbed dustwrapper.
