Elinor Wylie. The Orphan Angel (1926). First edition. Speculative fiction featuring Percy Bysshe Shelley in America
Elinor Wylie. The Orphan Angel (1926). First edition. Speculative fiction featuring Percy Bysshe Shelley in America
Wylie, Elinor (1885-1928). The Orphan Angel. New York: Alfred A. Knopf, 1926. First edition. Some light water staining to covers: very good or better in a nice example of the dustwrapper.
An alternate history by an author best known for her poetry. Rather than drowning in 1822 in the Gulf of Spezzia, Percy Bysshe Shelley is rescued and builds a new life in America. Not what one normally considers speculative fiction, but Bleiler does list the book in the later editions of his essential bibliography.
